Patricia Jackson Howard Scholarship

Historic Columbus annually awards a $1000 scholarship to a deserving Muscogee County senior. The scholarship was created to honor the memory of one of our past directors, Patricia Jackson Howard. Mrs. Howard promoted the mission of Historic Columbus for many years as a volunteer and employee of the organization. It was her wish that the scholarship be awarded based on merit and need. It will also be provided directly to the recipient for the use to purchase items associated with attending a university or college.
The requirements for scholarship consideration are:
The application packets are due back to Historic Columbus Foundation by 5:00 PM on Friday, March 25, 2011. (HCF mailing address: P.O. Box 5312 Columbus, GA 31906 or physical address: 1440 Second Avenue, Fax 706-576-4760).
The selection committee will select up to four finalists to interview the week of April 18th. All finalists will receive a small stipend and an autographed copy of the book Images: A Pictorial History of Columbus by noted Columbus historian F. Clason Kyle.

- A graduating senior from a public school in Muscogee County;
- A completed application by the deadline;
- A copy of the student’s transcript;
- A copy of the Student Aid Report (SAR);
- A completed essay on the topic provided; and
- A letter of recommendation.
